Paula C. Maggio is the Executive Vice President, General Counsel & Secretary, Mortgage Guaranty Insurance Corporation (MGIC). As part of USMI’s Q&A series celebrating prominent women leaders in housing finance, Paula shared advice to others in this space, her thoughts on how the industry can ensure the unique borrowing needs of women, and how the industry can grow to ensure diverse representation at all levels. She has had a tremendous career, made truly positive impacts on housing, and has demonstrated women’s leadership at its highest levels.

Paula C. Maggio Biography

Paula C. Maggio is the Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of MGIC Investment Corporation and Mortgage Guaranty Insurance Corporation. She joined the company in 2018. Before joining MGIC, Ms. Maggio served as the Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary at both Retail Properties of America, Inc. where she served for two years, and Strategic Hotels & Resorts, Inc., where she served for 15 years in various leadership positions. Previously, Ms. Maggio was in private practice with the law firm Altheimer & Gray. Ms. Maggio received both her BA and JD from the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign.
